Axel Grüner’s early musical interests spanned from playing violin, viola and piano to settle eventually on French horn. Because of the various formations he experienced as a member of orchestras, big bands and smaller groups, chamber music became central to his musical interests. After his studys he has been principal French hornist with the orchestra of the theater Cottbus for three years and currently serves in the same position with the Staatskapelle Berlin.
